Vigeo Eiris is recruiting a Product Manager – Controversial weapons research

Full time / Permanent contrat / ASAP / Bagnolet (line 3 Gallieni)

The Controversial Weapons Research (CWR) product is part of the Specialised Research division. Reporting to the Head of Specialised Research, the Product Manager is in-charge of the overall management, content, delivery and visibility of the CWR product.

This is a high-impact role, taking charge of an exclusionary screening product that has been among the primary sustainable and responsible investment (SRI) strategies adopted by institutional investors globally. The selected candidate will also act as the global subject matter expert in armaments-related research.


  • Product Management and Innovation

– Ownership of the full life-cycle of the research and production: development, implementation, production, delivery, maintenance
– Spearhead the ongoing integration and enhancement of the CWR product; support the creation of new product marketing materials

  • Subject Matter Expert

– Act as the global thematic expert in weapons
– Primarily supporting the CWR, product but also act as thematic referent for any knowledge support requirement on armament- or security-related topic [eg conflict areas, aerospace and defense sector]
– Create original thought leadership pieces that highlights the market utility and strengths of our CWR research line
– Promote visibility of VE’s CWR research within the client community, act as VE’s controversial weapons expert spokesperson in seminars and conferences

  • Sales Enablement and Client Relationship Management Support

– Act as an expert and advisor to internal Sales Teams applying both product/thematic knowledge and client expertise; support sales in identifying product needs or usage, opportunities for value creation for clients = upselling and cross-selling opportunities
– Provide sales trainings; support sales team in managing client inquiry and issue resolution process; accompany Sales teams in client meetings when relevant

  • Marketing & market watch

– Continually assess target market and thematic trends to understand positioning and enhancement requirements of VE’s CWR research
– Continually monitor and communicate emerging trends and requirement in weapons divestment amongst clients to internal Research Managers and externally within the business leaders’ community
– Monitor competition on CWR research; report on market and competitors to the appropriate committee (Project management committee, Management Board)
– Manage biannual transversal product reviews
– Manage availability of product toolkits content for all CWR


  • Advanced university degree, with keen interest in disarmament and nonproliferation, and with understanding of socially responsible investing
  • Demonstrated ability to develop value-added contributions to product development and client management
  • Can-do’ attitude, with pro-active problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences in an effective way – both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix structure
  • Ability to manage workloads and deadlines for self and others
